Swami Ramananda: During his college years, Swami Ramananda, also known as Dr. Ken Kastle, worked at the Galleria Design Center San Francisco under the tutelage of his mentor, the late Rudolph Schaeffer (Rudolph Schaeffer School of Design). After graduating with a B.A. in Fine Arts from the University of California at Berkeley, Swami, inspired by the architectural wonders of Frank Lloyd Wright and equally intrigued with the mysticism of Asian culture, embarked on an educational and spiritual journey to India. In India, he finished his post-graduate studies, received his Master Certificate in Architecture (Asian Art Forms), and became the first person to authentically translate the original text of Indian “shastras,” or scriptures, that control architecture and design. His thesis, touted as a “remarkable contribution to architecture,” resulted in his acceptance at Shefferton College at London University, where he graduated with a Ph.D. During that period, Dr. Kastle, was initiated as a “Swami” by Sri Anandamayi MA. Swami Ramananda now lectures worldwide, and his best selling book, Bliss Now, is available in bookstores nationwide. Articles by and about Dr. Kastle have been published in international publications, including, most recently: Vogue, Marie Claire, La Mia Casa, Vegas Magazine, Trends Magazine, Architectural Digest Italy, and Las Vegas Home & Design.
